The first Cartes Gemini line featuring a dual-bar Jet D-Screen digital embellishment unit has been installed at Rotocel-Space, an Italian converter specialising in premium labels for wine, olive oil, spirits and personal care products.
The Gemini line installed at Rotocel-Space includes a flexo varnishing station, the dual-bar Jet D-Screen digital embellishment module, and a semi-rotary die-cutting unit. According to the company, this provides the Italian converter with enhanced process efficiency, high quality standards, and the flexibility required to meet the most demanding just-in-time production needs.
First introduced in 2019, Cartes said its Jet D-Screen technology has helped reshape label embellishment by enabling converters to produce high-value, profitable projects even in small, on-demand runs. The technology is available in both a multi-pass version, integrated with GT360 lines, and a single-pass version on the Gemini platform.
Compared to the standard configuration, Cartes said it doubles spot varnishing speed, produces thicker and more tactile embossed effects, and can carry out varnishing and foil application in a single pass.
