Fujifilm has appointed Francesca Ricupero as sales manager, packaging and flexo, for its Italian packaging division. With more than 15 years of experience in digital and conventional printing, Ms Ricupero brings expertise in commercial, label, and flexible packaging applications.

In her new role, she will focus on expanding Fujifilm’s packaging business in Italy, with particular attention to digital flexible packaging. She will also work with third-party partners to support the company’s ink sales.

Ms Ricupero began her career in marketing before joining HP in 2008, where she held several positions within the Indigo division and later supported commercial, publishing, and transactional print sectors. She then moved to Bobst, working with digital, hybrid, and conventional printing systems in the label sector.

Reflecting on her new position, Ms Ricupero emphasised the importance of making digital print technology both scalable and efficient. “Fujifilm’s commitment to inkjet and the flexible packaging market presents a strong opportunity,” she said. “There is still significant room for digital adoption in this space.”

As part of her onboarding, Ms Ricupero visited UK-based Eco Flexibles to see Fujifilm’s Jet Press FP790, the first installed outside Japan. She noted its ability to manage a range of production volumes with a relatively small pre-press team.

Looking ahead, Ms Ricupero believes the market is shifting toward increased consolidation and specialisation. “Larger groups are acquiring niche players, expanding their capabilities and investment power,” she said. “In flexible packaging, digital will increasingly support traceability, efficiency, and short-run production.”
