The first North American installation of the Xeikon Cheetah is at Accu-Label, Inc, in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Having first been installed at Mercian Labels and CS Labels in the UK, the Xeikon Cheetah, the world’s fastest digital label press, has now crossed the Atlantic to Accu-Label.

These three pilot customers each see specific benefits in this engine: at Mercian and CS, where the Cheetah extends their digital capabilities, they want to see production grow. ‘Quite simply,’ states CS Labels’ Simon Smith, ‘the Xeikon Cheetah will enable us to cope with increased demand while continuing to deliver jobs quickly and accurately.’

For Accu-Label this is their very first digital press. The company has been waiting for an engine that could reconcile both quality and speed. David Manning says, ‘As we continue to evolve our business, we never lose sight of our dedication to quality. This focus on quality is what has made us successful for 28 years. Quality and consistency are critical to us and to our customers, and with our combination of flexographic printing and Xeikon digital presses, we never sacrifice either one. We hit the quality benchmark each and every time.’

The Xeikon Cheetah has a top speed of 98 ft/min – 30 m/min, which is 56% faster than any other model in its current press portfolio. The 1200 x 3600 dpi digital press is dedicated solely to the production of self-adhesive/pressure sensitive labels. It offers all the renowned benefits that make the Xeikon 3000 Series unique, including the use of dry toners that meet FDA regulations for food contact and the ability to print opaque white toner in one pass. It also enables printing on a variety of heat-sensitive substrates due to incorporation of Xeikon’s ICE toner technology which requires a much lower fusing temperature than typical toner-based presses.
