Focus Label Machinery, the flexo and digital label press manufacturer based near Nottingham in the UK, has entered liquidation after more than 45 years in business. An administrator – Currie Young of Stoke-on-Trent – has been appointed to seek a sale of the business and its assets.
The company has recently experienced financial pressures from multiple external factors and had been in discussion with their financial institution for support. This sadly has led to the difficult decision to cease trading.
The workforce of 21 employees has unfortunately been made redundant as a result.
Director of CY Group, Justin Brown, comments: “Focus Label Machinery struggled with cashflow pressures having been particularly affected following the USA attack on Iran earlier this year, which resulted in delayed payments from its customers. The directors were unable to obtain further support from their bank, and have made the difficult decision to cease trading and to appoint Administrators to preserve the position for the Company’s creditors.”
The Joint Administrators are actively seeking a purchaser for the Company’s business and assets, which includes a freehold property located in Bingham, Nottingham.
MGR Appraisals, an independent chartered surveyor, valuer and auctioneer company based in Birmingham, has advertised Focus Label Machinery as a “Business for Sale”, on behalf of the administrator, providing an email address for interested parties. The LinkedIn post said the sale would include “plant and machinery, vehicle, current work in progress, extensive range of spare parts, and IPR/Goodwill to include historic designs, customer list and website”.
It added that turnover of the business in year ending 31 May 2025 was circa £2.6million, and that the business had a freehold property of 1.06 acres with two units.
A deadline of 4pm Tuesday 11 August 2026 is given for “best and final offer”.
