UPM has introduced a simplified range of adhesive solutions designed for specialised label applications across the pharmaceutical, beverage and industrial sectors.
The new products include UPM PharmaSure for pharmaceutical packaging, UPM Vetro for wine and spirits labels, and UPM Endurance for oil, chemical and industrial labelling. All three are part of the company’s UPM Raflatac label material portfolio.
UPM said the adhesives are engineered to meet the performance requirements of demanding environments where general-purpose adhesives may be insufficient. Pharmaceutical labels must withstand sterilisation, cold-chain storage and application to small vials, while beverage labels face humidity, chilled conditions and ice bucket immersion. Industrial labels must adhere reliably to difficult surfaces under chemical exposure, mechanical stress and hot-fill processes.
The company said the adhesive formulations are supported by application documentation and pre-assessed performance data to assist converters and brand owners with qualification and regulatory processes.
“With demanding label applications, adhesive selection is a critical decision. Our purpose-built adhesive solutions help our customers choose the right performance for their end-use,” said Christian Szameit, senior vice president, global markets at UPM Adhesive Materials.
UPM said the new range is intended to help customers match adhesive performance more closely to specific end-use requirements.
