Grafiche Pradella has expanded its digital label printing capacity with a second Screen Truepress Label 350UV SAI S press as demand for digitally printed labels continues to grow.
The new press has been integrated into a hybrid production line alongside Lombardi flexo technology.
Before adopting digital printing, Grafiche Pradella relied exclusively on flexo presses. Working with Screen Europe and Italian distributor REM, the company explored how digital technology could complement its existing flexo operations to improve production flexibility and efficiency.
The configuration allows the company to determine production methods based on factors such as job complexity and run length, while also supporting workflows that combine digital and flexo printing within a single process.
After evaluating several options, the company selected the Truepress Label 350UV SAI S press, citing its scalability and adaptability to changing production requirements. The company later added a second white printhead in response to growing demand for digitally printed labels on clear plastic films requiring high-opacity white coverage.
According to the company, digital printing has enabled Grafiche Pradella to support smaller production runs that were previously less economical using flexographic methods, contributing to an expansion of its customer base.
“Customer orders for digitally printed labels continue to grow,” said Gabriele Pradella, CEO Grafiche Pradella. “And the new hybrid printing line enables our team to complete more label production orders with the same number of operators without requiring any extra overtime, all while maintaining consistent print quality.”
Ettore Maretti, managing director at REM, commented: “Grafiche Pradella represents exactly the kind of forward-thinking label producer we enjoy supporting, Their trust in Screen’s digital label technology and commitment to continuous innovation reflects exactly the kind of business that is driving the Italian label converting sector. We’re excited to see how far they have already come and just how far they will go.”
Ms Pradella added: “Digitally printed labels are the future, and Screen has been the right partner to help us reach this point, and our success so far comes from hard work, trust, and collaboration. With Screen and REM, we’ve built a powerful reputation for exceptional quality and fast turnaround times with our clients, and we’re excited to see what an increasingly digital printing future hold.”
