Mark Andy Digital Series now has a DFE powered by Esko
Mark Andy has introduced ProWorx, a digital front end (DFE) solution for its Digital Series of hybrid inkjet presses. Powered by Esko, the new integrated DFE supports digital file management and workflows that allow the converter to realise the potential of this new digital label and package printing platform.
This is presented as a ‘one box’ solution promising superior and consistent control between the press and the digital file management workflows. It is the ideal fit for both large multi-press, multi-function hybrid printing environments or as a dedicated single digital press operation. ProWorx can easily be integrated into a networked infrastructure when linked to the Esko Automation Engine as well as others.
The DFE features a simple and intuitive user interface. Once a print-ready PDF file is accepted to a hot folder, the server executes a number of tasks with Esko-based automation and integration that ensures jobs are processed faster with minimised manual intervention, improving accuracy and resulting in higher productivity. Automated tasks include step and repeat, colour management, pre-flighting, pre-viewing, eye-marking, job optimisation and more. These functions enable the operator to efficiently manage all tasks, allowing them to set up all job properties, creating job tickets. These are then prioritised to hot folders, where files are ripped and sent to the press, queued up for immediate printing and converting. ProWorx job tickets also automate pre-flight work necessary for hybrid printing operations, including use of inline flexo stations, hot or cold foil stamping, die-cutting or other operations.
