A large roll unwinder/rewinder for the Tau 330 has been launched by Durst to enable uninterrupted production with less roll changes to increase productivity.
The system features motorised loading and unloading of heavy rolls with a built-in roll lifter. A built-in splice table facilitates easy and fast roll changes and the system is equipped with a servo drive to feed material in both directions.
Omnilabel in Dalfsen, the Netherlands, already used a Tau 150 label printer and recently installed the Tau 330 with the jumbo roll feature. ‘The new Tau 330 allows us to develop our core competence even further towards high speed digital production,’ stated Michiel Smudde, managing director. ‘In addition to the excellent print quality and speed of the Tau 330 press, the new jumbo roll winder/unwinder speeds up production even more, facilitating uninterrupted print production of longer print runs with less roll changes.’
Equipped with Xaar 1002 single-pass printheads, the Tau 330 allows printing speeds of up to 48 m/min at a print quality of 720×1260 dpi. The printer includes integrated cooling roll for processing thin, heat-sensitive materials, an impressive range of applications.
