Wolfram Verwuester, global segment manager corrugated packaging and display printing, introduced the new printer at the drupa press conference
Durst has introduced a new printing press aimed at the corrugated display and packaging market.
The new Rho 130 SPC is a single pass printer for the corrugated display and packaging market, a new segment for the manufacturer. Launched at drupa, it is based on the printing system used in the company’s established label presses and uses a non-hazardous ink system based on Durst Water Technology. The press can run at speeds up to 120 m/min printing board sizes up to 1300 x 2500 mm, which translates into a productivity rate of 9350 sqm/hr. Printing in four to six colours at 800 dpi, it uses Durst SPC DOD printheads.
‘Top of the agenda at drupa 2016 will be digital, and we are extremely excited to be unveiling our new segment for the packaging industry,’ said CEO Christoph Gamper ahead of the show. ‘The Rho 130 SPC alone with its immense print speed will impress visitors. We will also be showcasing our various portfolios, presenting workflow systems and as the specialist in industrial inkjet applications, opening a new chapter in the digitalisation of printing processes.’
