The management of RAKO, X-label and Baumgarten have announced that the three companies are merging

 

Three of the world’s leading label companies have entered into a contract to merge operations.

RAKO, X-label and Baumgarten have announced that they plan to create a label printing ‘powerhouse’ which will stretch from Latin America, across Europe and Asia. The new group of companies will have more than 3000 employees spread over 30 production sites worldwide and a turnover in excess of $500 million.

The merger combines RAKO group and X-label group from Germany, and Brazilian Baumgarten group. Adrian Tippenhauer, managing director of RAKO, Jan Oberbeck, managing director of X-label, and Fernando Gabel, managing director of Baumgarten, said in a statement, ‘This is an important next step for us and our customers, as we continue to expand and strengthen our market position both globally and at regional level.’

The headquarters of the new group will be situated in Witzhave near Hamburg. Matthias Kurtz (supply chain), Adrian Tippenhauer (sales and business development), Tim Fiedler (finance) and Jan Oberbeck (sales and business development) will serve as partner-CEOs of the newly formed group. The full integration is currently underway with completion expected in 2017 at which point the name of the new company will be made public.
