Immer Group has installed an HP Indigo 20000 digital press at its new digital printing site in Ventspils, in Latvia.
Officially opened on 1 February following an investment of €5 million, Immer Digital is the first flexible packaging factory in the region with digital printing capabilities. The addition of this offering further supports the company’s plan to start exporting products both to northern Europe and wider global markets.
‘Our innovative patented solutions, combined with the power of HP’s Indigo 20000 digital press, will be used to produce high quality environmentally friendly packaging products for our customers, while also allowing customers to create unique and custom packaging designs, an increasing trend,’ said Dr Irina Mirochnik, president. ‘We’re getting the best of both worlds by leveraging the latest achievements of modern technology to benefit our customers, while also increasing the range of Immer Group production capabilities and service offerings.’
Shrink wrapped bottles printed using HP’s Mosaic technology were given out on the opening day to showcase the new press. These commemorated a famous public art installation in Ventspils. The Cow Parade 2002 saw 26 life size fibreglass cow sculptures turned into works of art and sold in a charity auction. Six of these can still be seen in the city.
