(L-R) Daniel Carr, Helen Dennis and Peter Howells

Three new directors will be taking their seat at the board at Positive ID Labelling in Melbourne, in Derbyshire. As part of the company’s business development plan, three long-standing, key employees have been allocated shares and appointed directors.

Helen Dennis, who joined the company six years ago, will become commercial director, while Daniel Carr, who was the first production employee in 2004, is the new production director. Finally Peter Howells will take the role of technical director following his career in aviation management and IT.

The family-owned label printing company, which has a turnover of £2 million, has seen 15 years of year on year growth and today employs 24 staff. Initially a print agent without any in-house manufacturing capability, it bought its first printing press in 2004, and now operates 10 presses and four plain label converters.

An underlying strategy of re-investment of profits has seen over £650,000 invested in new equipment over the past 12 months. An EFI Jetrion 4900 digital press with inline laser cutting capability has opened new markets (http://bit.ly/2oCajhK) and delivered substantial growth in the low-volume sector. This growth will continue with the delivery of a new flexo press from Brazil in May.

As part of the continued expansion plans, the company is now seeking two apprentices from the local area to start this spring.
