Robbert Vugts, general manager and owner, Vila Etiketten

Two new press installations in Europe have been announced by HP Indigo. Vila Etiketten, in the Netherlands, has invested in an 8000 model, and Rolf Kindler Etikettenservice, in Germany, has bought the wider 20000 press.

For Vila, a member of Optimum Group and one of the largest Dutch label printers, the 8000 is its fourth HP Indigo. The company is in the midst of a rebuilding project at its facilities in Breda. This will see an entire floor dedicated to digital printing.

‘Vila Etiketten is growing rapidly. We bought our first HP Indigo press in 2005, and 12 years later, we now have four presses to keep up with customer demand and our growing business,’ said Robbert Vugts, general manager and owner. ‘With the HP Indigo technology, quality is guaranteed. Our growth – and the fact that we added a fourth press – is proof.’

Mr Vugts highlighted the quality the colours as a major benefit of the press, pointing especially to the importance of white. ‘With the HP Indigo 8000, we can ensure that our customers will get the perfect white every single time,’ he said.

Rolf Kindler Etikettenservice, in Endingen, installed the HP Indigo 20000 to expand its capacity, as well as open new markets, including flexible packaging and larger sized labels. The family business, founded in 1993, entered the digital market by installing a WS6000 in 2012.

‘The HP Indigo 20000 enables shorter production times, high quality of diverse materials and numerous possibilities in large format printing,’ said managing director Thorsten Kindler. ‘One single system allows for both long and short production times. Shorter set-up times allow us to ideally fulfil customer and market requirements. Furthermore, the 20000 enables us to enter new markets in flexible packaging, including leveraging variable data printing and even using variable designs with HP Mosaic.’
