Hybrid Software has acquired Conics, a Belgium-based software development and consultancy firm that provides integration and project management services for the printing and packaging industry. The move is part of Hybrid Software’s broader strategy to expand its offerings beyond core design and visualisation tools.
Conics, headquartered in Ypres, specialises in supporting customers through the selection, implementation, and customisation of graphical software. The firm also develops tailored integration solutions, bridging gaps between existing technologies and customer-specific workflows.
Mike Rottenborn, CEO of Hybrid Software, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term strategy. “Our focus has always been on high-end graphical software for labels and packaging,” he said. “By bringing Conics into the group, we’re strengthening our project management and consultancy capabilities – an area that’s becoming increasingly important for both printers and brand owners.”
Mr Rottenborn also highlighted Conics’ work in artificial intelligence as a valuable addition. “Their expertise in AI complements our own product roadmap, and we see strong potential for joint development of new solutions that address evolving challenges in the labels and packaging sector.”
Conics’ founders, Dries Maerten and Frederic Vandelanotte, will continue to lead the business as a separate unit within Hybrid Software. The company will retain its office in Ypres and will continue to work with a variety of third-party software vendors.
“We’ve worked extensively with Hybrid’s CloudFlow workflow in recent years and understand the value their tools bring to customers,” said Mr Vandelanotte. Mr Maerten added, “Our independence in terms of software integration will remain unchanged, ensuring we continue to provide the right solutions for each client.”
The acquisition supports Hybrid Software’s goal of expanding its capabilities beyond product development to include end-to-end project delivery and integration services, responding to growing industry demand for more comprehensive digital transformation support.
