winners of the label design competition

More than 300 converters attended the Hybrid Forum open
house event held by Mark Andy at its European showroom and
demonstration facility in Warsaw in September. On working
display were four presses, a Rotoflex rewinder and ancillary
equipment including a Martin Automatic unwind splicer and a ProLED
UV curing systems.

Welcoming the attendees, CEO Kevin Wilken said the company now
has the most comprehensive portfolio of label and packaging
technology of any manufacturer. ‘We have come a long way in a short
time in Europe thanks to our comprehensive and competitive product
range, but mostly the efforts of our European team, whom I
congratulate for making Mark Andy the number 1 supplier of narrow
web presses in 2017.’

As part of its educational programme, Mark Andy launched a
competition earlier in the year that invited students to design a
label that could be printed flexo or digital. The winners were
Olena Onyshchuk from Kiev and Lydia Haussmann from Stuttgart. In
addition to seeing their own work produced in Warsaw, the students
were given a VIP day-out that included dinner in a downtown
restaurant with the Mark Andy team.

European managing director Tom Cavalco said, ‘The label market
reflects the high volatility in consumer demand and as the leading
solutions provider we have to ensure that we can respond quickly to
any variation. We now have a portfolio of narrow web press
technology that allows Mark Andy to cater for any market
requirement and were delighted to show this to all the converters
who attended.’
