London-based Euro Label Printers is the recipient of the third d-Flex digital inkjet press from Focus Label Machinery.
Featuring the new ColourPrint 142 iS print engine from Industrial Inkjet Ltd (IIJ), the hybrid press is due to be installed in October. Its inline converting configuration includes a flexo printing/coating head and full rotary die-cutting as well as cold foiling and slitting to produce finished labels. The servo-controlled d-Flex can be used independently as a standalone production machine or as a converting line for pre-printed rolls of labels.
Euro Label Printers said that it had been looking to invest in a digital inkjet system for the past year, and that finding a versatile package and a level of investment that it was comfortable with was the main reason in selecting the d-Flex system.
Antony Cotton, sales manager at Focus Label Machinery, said, ‘Euro Label Printers identified the d-Flex as ideal for its short run work having looked at a whole range of digital solutions, some of them many times more expensive than our machine. The fact that our machine can also be used as a standalone flexo converting solution made this investment more justifiable. Even if there isn’t enough short run work to run the inkjet portion all day every day, the conventional flexo side works as a good workshop tool regardless.’
