Tim Smith

Linkz-IM, the mobile marketing startup, has appointed Tim Smith as CEO. Mr Smith will drive the continued growth of the company as it enters its next stage of development, including overseas expansion and the next round of investment. He replaces founding CEO Andrew Perry-Smith who has left Linkz to join EY’s Transaction Advisory team but remains a non-executive director on the Linkz board.

Tim Smith is a client-facing business development and transition professional with 30 years’ experience in marketing communications covering customer acquisition, retention and loyalty. With a broad background in marketing solutions at Polestar and Paragon Europe, he was a founding executive of an EMEA based dot.com business, has managed international growth in USA and Asia, run a German software company, and set up off-shore back-office teams in India.

Robert Berkeley, chairman, Linkz-IM, said, ‘Consumers are starting to expect that they can use their mobile phones to interact with the world around them and marketers need a unified system to manage the message they get. Andrew has built Linkz over the past few years to the stage where it’s a live, viable platform for growth. Tim’s experience with high growth start-ups and knowledge of the marketing world will now enable us to become the mobile trigger management platform of choice for retailers, brands and publishers.’
