The Durst Tau 330 digital press

Design Label Systems is acquiring a new Durst Tau 330 UV inkjet digital press, which is due to be installed in January 2016 at the company’s facility near Toronto.

President Zeb Faruqui said that after extensive research, the company identified the seven colour Tau 330 with an in line SMAG finishing system as its configuration of choice. He cited significant operational savings as well as faster turnaround as the main reasons behind the decision. Mr Faruqui said the company is looking forward to the Tau’s lower cost-per-print and better responsiveness for its client. Nearly 40% of its jobs are short runs under 7000 feet.

Founded 26 years ago, Design Label Systems provides label and packaging solutions to a wide range of industries including food, household products, health & beauty, wine & spirits, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and manufacturing.

‘The decision was sealed after our staff attended Labelexpo in Brussels earlier this year and came back with a glowing recommendation that verified our preliminary research,’ Mr Faruqui said.  ‘And our experience with Durst has been great. We’re looking forward to having the new press on site in January.’
