CS Labels’ new GM DC330FB converting line

To offer more added value to its printed label offering, CS Labels has invested over £750,000 in new machinery. This includes a GM DC330FB finishing line with hot foiling, embossing and spot varnishing.

The finishing machine is designed to work mainly with high-end luxury brands, many of which are switching to digital print due to its personalisation, short run capability and high quality print. The company said it has seen an increased demand from health and beauty, drinks such as wine and gin, and the gifting sector, as the digital market continues to accelerate.

‘Adding value to digital labels through creativity and innovation can be the key element that has a direct effect on sales of that brand,’ commented managing director Simon Smith. ‘Our existing capabilities continue to serve us well, from traditional hot foil stamping, to Color-Logic metallic special effect substrates, all the way through to using layered digital inks to offer an innovative way of embossing. The addition of this machine was a result of increased demand. We particularly like the way the hot foil capability is extremely accurate and that it can also work with a clear material. The end finish is simply stunning.’

The company has also installed a new 330 mm wide Ashe Opal (EC) slitter rewinder to increase capacity and speed up lead times.
