A cloud-based management information system built for the label, flexible packaging and folding carton industries, O2, is set to be launched by Cerm.
The company says O2 has been developed in response to shorter print runs, growing operational complexity and rising demand for automation and deeper system integration across converting businesses. It combines modern cloud architecture with what Cerm describes as built-in print industry intelligence, an enhanced user interface and an API-first design intended to support integrations with other software providers.
“Our team has traditionally been very strong at covering labels-and-packaging-specific needs and functionality through our well-proven CERM7 suite of products,” said Jan Heyse, CEO at Cerm. “We continue that development while now adding a next-generation, cloud-native MIS product to our offering, built by a dedicated team, that relieves customers from IT infrastructure and security concerns, while giving them access to 40 years of labels and packaging industry workflow experience in a modern stack.”
Rather than replicating the full breadth of CERM7 immediately, the company is rolling O2 out progressively, initially targeting smaller and mid-sized converters seeking digitalisation and automation without the complexity of a full enterprise MIS deployment. The first version will focus primarily on label converters, with flexible packaging and folding carton functionality to follow in a later phase.
“Our goal is to create a platform that companies can grow with,” Mr Heyse added. “We are starting with specific use cases where O2 can immediately provide value and will continue expanding its capabilities as both the platform and our customers evolve.”
Alongside the O2 launch, CERM will also demonstrate its Lexis AI agent at Loupe Americas, which converts incoming customer emails and attachments into validated sales orders, as well as its Smart BI Enterprise business intelligence tool, Cerm Tempo scheduling software, and updated quality management and traceability features.
