A Karlville laminator forms part of the investment

Slovenian labels and packaging converter, LabelProfi, has invested in HP’s Pack Ready Lamination technology to keep up with trends and open new opportunities for digitally printed flexible packaging.

‘We always aim to offer our clients the most up-to-date technologies. We want our digital labels customers to enjoy the same flexibility for their flexible packaging products, and also benefit from shorter delivery times and more flexible production,’ said founder and CEO Uroš Slemenik.

The concept combines the Pack Ready laminator, manufactured and supplied by Karlville, with Pack Ready lamination films by certified suppliers to deliver strong laminate bond strength with zero curing time for immediate pouch converting without the use of adhesives.

‘With a new Pack Ready Laminator by Karlville, we can deliver finished products to the customers in a fraction of the time compared with conventional services. In our opinion, the Pack Ready solution is the smartest answer to the market needs. Since we already have suitable printing machines we first invested in the finishing solution,’ added Mr Slemenik.

LabelProfi has secured interest in the solution from food, cosmetics and general consumer goods sectors, and sees an opportunity to meet demand to deliver for marketing campaigns and personalised products, which poses a challenge for both brands and converters.

The company began in 1994 as a small graphic design and pre-press studio. In 2017, it moved to a new-built production site in Slovenj Gradec, which houses its digital and conventional presses along with finishing equipment.
