Welcome one and all to this, my first issue flying solo as editor of Digital Labels & Packaging.

I wish to pass my thanks on to Neel Madsen, the previous editor, who did a wonderful job leading this magazine through exciting times. It is now my duty to carry on this work, heading into what is undoubtedly going to be a future just as exhilarating. Statistics from the likes of Smithers Pira will tell you that package printing in all its forms is only going in one direction. drupa 2020 and our 10th anniversary make the next 12 months particularly exciting, and that’s without looking further into the future.

My background gives me a solid footing in the industry, albeit from a narrow web vantage point. As such, I am very much looking forward to getting my teeth stuck into the wider world of package printing.
